Casa De Reyes is a story of three black kings whose worlds collided at the intersection of increased risk tolerance, passion for quality spirits and the flip from professional athlete to businessman. In tandem with the meaning of this brand, this collision resulted in hours of hard conversations, feedback on everything from relationships to career decisions and even financial growth, all meant to elevate one another to the next level. From that, Casa De Reyes was born, with the goal to deliver a premium quality Tequila, and set the example that friends can turn to brothers and brothers can turn into a vessel set to embark on an unforgettable experience to build a timeless brand.

I am a post college graduate who lived most of my life taking little to no risks. There were times where I calculated my gas mileage to and from every location, and was terrified to step outside of the 9-5 job box and invest my money into anything other than my bills. As an adult, I quickly realized that corporate America would always be bound by limits and restrictions; and for the most part always be low risk. The idea of co-owning my own Tequila brand was intriguing since the market has so much potential. Building the brand from the ground up with little connections was a challenge I was willing to accept. Not only because I enjoy Tequila, but I saw the opportunity to create jobs and help mentor and develop people while engaging in a world where I could take risks that resulted in memorable experiences. I am the most passionate about building a growing successful business while establishing strong and progressive connections. I want to ensure we are sourcing, planning, spending and promoting with integrity and passion. And most importantly, I am excited about doing it with people I love to be around!

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” For as long as I’ve known myself, I’ve always been a very outgoing person. I jumped at every opportunity to bring people together, whether that was through college football tailgates, parties, or $2 Tuesdays. Just like most students, the tequila I was able to afford in college was subpar to the tequila I have grown to enjoy today. As I matured in my life, my taste for social events and spirits matured with it. So when we had the opportunity to embark on starting our own tequila company I was eager to do so. It’s not too often you get to build a brotherhood and a business with people that were once complete strangers. I wanted to create something different, something that I love, something that brought people together, challenging my creativity, and outside the box thinking. The creation of our reposado I hold near and dear to my heart. It is my favorite profile of tequila. I believe reposado is versatile, it can be most enjoyed neat without too much bite or it can be mixed to make a good cocktail. Being able to create a smooth and flavorful premium reposado tequila will go down as one of my biggest accomplishments.

After I retired from the NFL my goal was to prove that I was more than just an athlete. I worked under the shield of the league for more than 10 years and knew I had the platform to build my own brand and work to build generational wealth for my kids. But, starting a tequila company was never in my lens until Monroe and Flex presented the idea. As someone that never enjoyed drinking alcohol I thought it would be a bit bizarre to try and build this brand. But, I’m glad that I committed to it because I’ve learned a lot about being an entrepreneur and I am committed to continuing to stretch my wings. I am the most passionate about the journey of stepping outside of my comfort zone and being a tequila connoisseur. My goal is to be an example of someone that expanded his knowledge outside of sports and work to give back knowledge and growth to those without as many opportunities as I’ve had.
